Hi

About the security options, i think i can publish an .exe
that expires some days after first run, and use a key
to unlock forever.
Can i create a publication that generates a different key
for each computer it is installed on?
What edition is needed for the key unlock options (opus 4, opus 4XE, opus 5, opus 5 XE)?

Thanks!

Hi Abstracto,

In relation to the security key it is my understanding that a unique key is generated for each computer.

The following is a quote from the help files:
"The resulting 'Unlock code' is unique to the PC that generated the 'Unlock Request ID'. It will not unlock evaluation versions of the same publication running on other computers."

I believe the secuirty option was available from Opus Pro 4 onwards, certainly Opus Pro 4 XE and 5 XE.

Several years back I wrote a similar secuirty feature with in a program that I developed so it can be achieved in earlier versions of Opus.

As stated above; each key is unique to a single PC. The feature is only available in Pro 05 XE product (04 is no longer available to purchase).
