I expect I'm missing something simple but how would I get text to scroll up the page (closing credits style) using Opus Pro 5?

I've tried entering text in a text box, then trying to attach the various "Scroll to end" etc actions to the text but that does nothing at all except produce a nasty error clunk noise from my PC speaker. :-(

I'd appreciate advice.

Hi Tom

First, remove the scroll actions.

hold down the Ctrl key, and drag the text object below the bottom
of the page.

apply an OnShow trigger with the following action

Actions >> Animation >> Move Vertical

Thanks Chris that's helpful and it does make it scroll - a little bit jerkily,
but I can try tinkering with the settings

I suppose I was a bit naive to think the the text scroll actions would do it! :-( I can't get them to do anything at all - in fact when I try to apply them the program won't go into preview mode.

How do you apply them?

Hi Tom,

To add further to Chris' good reply, it can also be done via "Transitions" on the object's Properties Tab. It will do your desired effect on either the On-Show or On-Hide of the text box. Depends what suits you. :D

You'll need Chris' method though, if you want more control.

Thanks Steve. That way seems to reveal the lines cumulatively, but then leaves only the text which fits on the screen static - so the end of a longer piece doesn't all appear....

What I am trying to achieve is the scrolling effect that appears in the Help> About Opus Pro box... Do you know if that was done using Chris's method?

Tom

The transition Steve was refering to was Scroll Page >> North.
Of course you would have to move the text object above the top
of the page instead of the bottom and use this transition On Show.
