I've just uploaded an Opus Flex pub to a website and noticed that the custom splash screen included the extra line "Published by Opus". Not seen this before - or have I just not been paying attention?

Thanks for your response, German. The problem is that there's no "Cover Dialog" box to uncheck in the Opus Flex publish wizard. I only wanted to create a swf file for inclusion in an html page created in Dreamweaver. Guess I'll have to work round this.

Thanks again.

Roger, during the publishing process:
1- click on "settings".
2-Click on "options"
3-Unclick "splash screen" if you do not want any or
4-Click "splash screen" but choose "custom" and look for your own logo
5- In any case unclick "include opus logo"
This would do for you

I've done all that, German. And my custom splash screen still comes up with "Published with Opus" when the pub loads on the internet. Strange, I know. It's not a great problem, but a few people have asked what it means. I suppose I'll have to add a preloader - but this is not easy (for me at least) when the swf pub produced by Opus Flex can't be decompiled.

If you have any other ideas I'd welcome them.

Thanks.

Roger

If it's something that appears as part of the beginning of the finished SWF file, you could remove it with Wildform Linx - this software allows you to trim or crop an existing SWF, and then re-export it. You can also use it to join several SWFs together (provided they are same frame rate, etc.). Interface is a bit quirky, but the purchase price is low.

Thanks, Rob. I appreciate the suggestion, and will give it a try.

I think you'll find Flex doesn't use the cover dialog. It uses its own version. If you go to the Options section of the Settings when publishing you can change the static image to one of your own choosing or you can set a SWF file as a preloader.

Hope this helps.

Great. Many thanks, Paul. That sounds the most sensible way to go.

Regards.
