Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to achieve that "Star Wars" effect where text scrolls up the page but as it does so it's squeezed and dissapears into the distant horizon (not that there is a horizon in space, but hopefully you get the idea).

Any help would be very welcome. Thanks in adavnce.

Justin

Haven't tried it, but I think any 2D app would have a problem creating such an effect. X/Y is not enough, needs the Z axis. Perhaps ya could fudge it by sizing the text as it moves up and deforms, but I think the motion smoothness may be effected.

Thanks,

Have tried a number of different options, none work unfortunately, I'm guessing it may not be possible.

There are several ways to do this. You can script a virtual 3d plane by changing the scale of the object - as it moves up the page it gets smaller.

I've made a simple example that uses a png file rather than text - put the perspective on with Photoshop. At the moment Opus doesn't allow perspective effects on objects or text which is a shame as the skew works well! - now if we could only pinch the shape too!

I've also done it by importing a video that had a perspective scroll on the title as the transition effect... made using a little movie making program that comes with Win XP

Add an On Show trigger, then in animation, roll action to 45 degrees, and set the time to zero.

Unfortunately that loses the text anti aliasing (because the text engine can't do 3D), but if you convert your text to vector, it'll look much better.

Thanks for the tip - that save a bit of time!

It would be nice in a future realease to be able to have an interactive roll as an edit tool rather than having to use the animate.. you get a little jump onshow.

But for now that works a treat!

Thanks Craig and Dave for your suggestions, will try everything out and let you know how it goes. Plus I will review your sample Craig.

Cheers.
