I'm working with OPUS 5.0 XE and wanted to combine a Text Object and a Vector (drawing) object. I selected both, then did a Right Mouse click to reveal my options.

Under Group, I have two options: 1) Group Objects; 2) Group Objects as Frame. I select option 1), but I actually needed 2) in order to make them appear with the same Transition -- together.

So my question is, "What's the purpose of option 1) Group Objects. I must be missing its purpose, and how its different than Group Objects as Frame.

"Old Dog" trying to learn "new trick."

When resizing a Group object the contents are scaled with the Group.
Group objects as Frame does just that - put the items into a normal frame (which was the 04 way of doing groups). When you resize the frame the contents are unchanged (and will block the resize smaller than the contents unless overridden with Ctrl)

What you said is correct. That's how it works. But the help file for Opus Pro 05 doesn' agree. It says:

To Group a selection of objects

1. Select the objects you want to be grouped.
2. Choose the Group Objects as Frame menu item. This command can be found in the Group popup on the right-click menu for multiple objects and on the Arrange main toolbar menu.
3. The selected objects will be added to a new group object which can be manipulated and referred to as a single unit.

The help file is correct - you can move a frame/group and it's contents and show/hide/etc everything inside by moving/using actions on the frame/group.
The only difference is in the editor, where groups scale their contents and frames do not.
