Hello,
I own Version 2.81 and am trying out 05. Has something happened to the ability to copy and paste one object onto multiple pages? Has the method changed? It's not working for me.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

Exactly what method are you using?

Hi Brenden,
I select the object, select "copy" from the right-click menu, select all the pages I want it copied to, and then select "Paste" from the edit menu (because Paste is not available from the right-click menu at this point).
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

I am not sure how you have been able to do this in the past. I have gone back to 2.81 Pro, Presenter and XE and none of them allow you to paste in this way.

Have you considered using Master pages, with a master page you could apply the new object and then have it appear on all pages using that master page.

I've been doing it in this way for years, starting with Illiminatus 4.51 and yes, it still works in Opus Pro 2.81. Try it again.

Master Pages won't work for me, because all my pages are different except this object. The "paste to multiple pages" is a very important feature, ebcause it allows you to add a common object if you think of it after you've done everything else.

Mike,

I have tried your method on 4.5, 2.6, 2.81, 04, 04.5 and 05 without any luck.
I have spoken to the development team who say it should not be possible to do this.

Regards

Brenden

I guess I'm a very lucky person - I've been getting the special copies all these years..

Later today, I'll do a RoboDemo move showing how it's done in 2.81, and upload it.

May I ask why they wouldn't want people to do it?

It's not a case of not wanting - the code simply doesn't work that way!

I hereby suggest it for future versions, then. I've got to make a business call in 8 minutes, but the first thing I'll do after that is make a movie so you can see how lucky I am to have received the "special" code.

What in the heck is wrong with me? Am I going insane? How can a person imagine doing something since 1999 if really wasn't doing it?

But that seems to be the case. I went and tried it again in 2.81, no cigar. So, I uninstalled the eval copy of 5, still no cigar. So, I uninstalled Opus completely and reinstalled 2.81. STILL no luck.

I simply cannot do it. Then how in the world have I been doing it for 6 years? Answer: I haven't been, evidently. But here's the bigger question: What makes me think I've been doing it for 6 years?

I feel like I'm on the TV show Dallas, you know where Bobby was dead for an entire season, but they wanted him back, so they brought him back the next season and said that the whole season in which he was dead was just a dream.

Not only do I feel embarassed  and insane  , but I also realize that I'm not as special as I thought I was for getting the "special code".

I'm also full, from eating all that crow!

Please carry on and accept my apology for making you go through all that work.

Can we get that added at some point?

Thanks,
Mike

Please select from one of these explanations:

First Season:
“You’re traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That’s the signpost up ahead – your next stop, the Twilight Zone!”

Second Season:
“There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area we call the Twilight Zone.”

Third Season:
“You’re traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination – Next stop, the Twilight Zone!”

Fourth Season:
“You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension – a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve crossed over into the Twilight Zone!”

Fifth Season:
“This highway leads to the shadowy tip of reality: you’re on a through route to the land of the different, the bizarre, the unexplainable… Go as far as you like on this road. Its limits are only those of mind itself. Ladies and Gentlemen, you’re entering the wondrous dimension of imagination. Next stop…The Twilight Zone.”

I think this one sums it up, perfectly
