I've produced a simple front end menu pub for a client to add their own pages to.

It's been installed on his laptop, successfully using Resource Manager to relink the resource files from my E drive to his C drive.

Resource Manager now shows NO files not found.

Check Resourses also finds NO files missing.

Fine.

However, on publish we get seven error messages saying that there are seven image files missing. These error messages point to files on MY E drive, not the client's C drive.

The images that it says are missing DO show correctly in the final publication; Opus is correctly finding them.

So... there's no actual problem, except that the client sees an error on a piece of work I've created, so I want to fix it.

Suggestions please....

Linda

Hi Linda,

I know you know how to use the Resource Manager effectively, so I was wondering if there is a 'ghost object' introduced somehow?

Remember in ILM 4.5 sometimes in the organiser we could get a duplicate sound object? ...I wonder if you take a look in the 05 organiser and see if there's anything strange? (or in the object's Properties path)

Bearing in mind there's no scripts, what I'm trying to work out is this... in what way could an image file be used within a pub where it doesn't appear in the Resource Manager?

Thanks, Linda

What about if in the image properties browse field you had something like:

<SYSTEM_PUBLICATION_DIR>/my_image.jpg

I doubt that's your problem, but just taking a punt! (without actually having a look in 05)

Do you have a copy of the pub in 04.51?

No, the pub doesn't contain any such variables, or any other complicated bits... just straight show & hide images... I'll have to copy it onto another drive here and see if the problems show up.

Thanks, Linda

Can you send it in to DW so Support can take a look for you?

Yes... I've tried moving it from one pc to another here, and have experienced the same problem, so I can't blame the client's pc (!).... I've put it on a CD with your name on, Duncan.

Thanks for taking a look!

Linda

Update: solution

For all those dying to know the answer (!) Duncan found that I had a "Preload Resources" action on the master page, and these preloaded resources were not correctly remapped when the pub was moved to another pc.

Deleting and re-applying the action has therefore cured it.

Thanks, Linda
