I think that, naturally, people come to a forum with problems... so a forum can be an off-puttingly miserable place for a new user or potential user who only sees complaints and errors.

To counter this, it would be good to have an area where people can proudly talk of the publications they've produced, link to examples of Opus pubs (perhaps screen grabs or an online version) and offer some real-world examples of how the product is used.

btw: I know I've been quiet on the old forum recently... we've had several large video projects to complete... however, we're starting on a new, quite large Opus multimedia next month, so I'll be back with as many questions as ever!

Linda

Sounds like a great idea. We will try to implement this as soon as possible.

"The Showcase" now up and running! We're looking forward to hearing some of the interesting ways in which Opus is being used!

Regards,

Robin

is it possible to open a pool to know how the opus products are used. It could be interesting for you (and for us) because that could influence the future of those programs
For the same reason, a wishlist pool where we could choose for the new feature we would like to see for next release

We have added a new board named "The Showcase" which can be used to post case studies, success stories and show off your publications.

Kind regards,

After an initial reaction of bewilderment at the new appearance (lasting around 30 seconds) I found that I like the new board. Organization is key, especially as the products evolve and the number of levels of user skills broadens.

I always imagined that the board should use a structure where the top level breaks down by product and level -- and the current organization does just about everything of the following (although there are some differences in the outline below):

Opus Pro XE / Opus Pro
- Basics / How to ....
- Advanced - General [to encompass animation, tricks using rollovers, etc.]
- Advanced - Scripting and Databases
- FAQ
- Uploaded *.IMP samples [from DW & from users]
- Tips [this would be the DW-approved, summarized key Tips/Tricks from various posts dealing with specific topics]

Opus Presenter
- Basics / How to ....
- Uploaded samples [from DW & from users]
- FAQ

Links to Sites [this would be the new Showcase area, I guess]

Other than the above organizational suggestions, I'd love to see a button to simply download a text version of a given post, or at least to automatically e-mail a new Tip/Trick.

I am a new user and never used the old forum so cannot comment on that, but I'm absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the support on this forum, both from other users, and the staff (even the MD) at Digital Workshop.

My compliments to Digital Workshop for an excellent product, outstanding support and a great culture within the user community.
