I have recently completed a publication which the client insisted should be copy protected. After encountering a problem with the Macrovision SafeDisc program, and subsequently supplying them with an uncompressed player version of the publication (with the help of Duncan Lilly and Chris Jones), I’ve now been informed that this did not solve the problem – because, it seems, a necessary .dll could not be located. This may be wrong but, as is probably apparent by now, my knowledge in this respect is limited.
Effectively, the CD has received “signature only” protection, rather than full SafeDisc security.
For the benefit of many Opus users, I’m wondering if it would be possible for DW to work in conjunction with major players in the copy protection field (e.g. Macrovision) with the aim of sorting out what is required for a program like SafeDisc to work fully. A DW approved system would be very helpful.
