I have the sample Onscreen Keyboad Brendon Knifton did sometime back and I am trying to adapt it for use in a kiosk. What I want is just for the keyboard to become available when a field has to be filled in and fills in the field as you type.

I have had a very quick look at the publication and modified it to work in
the way you wanted. NOTE this was original produced in 4.5 and I have
had to move it through the versions to save it as an 05 publication. I have
not checked it works 100% so consider this an example only.

What I have done is put the keyboard in a frame (initially hidden. when
the mouse cursor goes over the text input area the keyboard appears.

I have set the last action on the virtual keyboard to hide the keyboard
when it is pressed.

Regards

Brenden Knifton

A lot of the old demo publication are still available form:

http://www.illuminatusforum.com/

I did notice that the link to the virtual keyboard is not working.

I no longer have any copies of this publication, they were lost along with a major hard drive crash.

Carib

Did you manage to get a copy of the keyboard?

From memory, this was originally created in ILM 4.5, NOT in Opus 04.5.

I have a copy of the original ILM 4.5 which I used to convert the keyboard to Opus 04.5. As I recall, I had no great problems opening this ILM file in either 281 or 04.5. If you want a copy of the ILM file, give me an email address and I will send it to you.

Thanks Paul. I'm always happy when I can avoid doing something unnecessary. :D

Thanks for that guys but the download will not open in my version of opus (2.81).

Does anyone have a version that will open in 2.81?

Keith

Do you want to see if my version for Opus 04.5 is backward compatible with 281.

I don't recall using any features that were peculiar to 04.5, but anything is possible. :)

As far as I can recall, the changes I made were to make the keyboard more closely resemble my 101/102 keyboard. This pub does not use any scripting, so it should work in 281 as well as Pro 281.

Here is a note of explanation that I added to the keyboard.

Quote:
The hard work in developing this virtual keyboard was done by Brenden Knifton.
All I have done is to modify the text so that it works with Opus Pro 04.10.
I set the screen to 800 x 600 and to display full-screen.
I have customised the keyboard to make it resemble, as closely as possible, the current 101/102 keyboard that I use.
I have added an Exit key. I have modified the actions so that the Information Screen displays only once per session, and so that it displays until any key is clicked. Faults caused by these changes are my responsibility, not Brenden’s.

keyboard04.imp is 144kb, so I if anyone is interested, I can try and post it here, or send me a PM and I'll send it to you as an attachment.
Regards

The file that Chris gave the link to is compatible with Opus 2.81.
At least it is when I open it.

Hi Paul

How is it in sunny NZ? I think they've cancelled spring in Perth :D

Like you, I've had no trouble downloading from Chris' site, so it's a little mystifying that some are having problems. I don't have 281 installed any more. I converted all my 281 pubs to 04, and that's where I work these days.

Regards
