Hi,

I have imported a flash movie which works fine. Now I try to animate this flash movie along an animation path.

A very strang thing happens. A black filled rectangle in size of the imported flash movie moves along the animation path and wipes out the flash-movie.

Is this a bug? I there a possibility animate imported flash movies without this prob?

Thanks in advance for any hint.

Change the Video Type (on the video properties page) to Rendered.

I'm intrigued to know.... I oculd never get my flash files to work as video objects, and have been using them in Browser objects instead.

Is it just the .swf file you're using as a video object?

Thanks, Linda

Using Flash in a video object requires QuickTime to be installed, since it can play Flash files to a given memory surface - something the Flash player cannot do.

Ah, I remember now trying to jump through these hoops previously ... if I use the swf vile as a video object, then I need a QT detector if I'm to distribute the programme on CD, and QT installation is so invasive I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

So I use the browser method and distribute the flash player instead.

Thanks for reminding me that there's a reason I work the way I do!!!

... what will happen if I export the opus-publication to flash (swf)? Will this file still require the quicktime player? I thought swf-files can alway be played by the flash player itself.

No, it will not require QuickTime; it that specific instance the publish process will embed the SWF movie into your new Opus SWF; at which point it is then under control of the Flash player and can be moved inside it's own window.
