Hi all,

I am thinking of including some video tutorials made in Camtasia Studio. Has anyone done this before? The end product will be distributed via CD will I have to include some kind of Codec for the tutorials to play properly.

They play fine on my computer but what about other computers?

Regards & thanks in advance,

Cruzer.

If you include the Camtasia player and launch your videos via a file launch action then you don't have to worry about codecs. If not, then you will have to convert the Camtasia videos to a format that's more universal or create an install routine to install the Camtasia codec.

I do this all the time using the Launch action, and incorporating switches relating to how I want Camtasia to run (full screen, play, etc.).

It works very well with Opus. If you include the CamPlay.exe file on the CD you distribute, there is no need to worry about codecs, as the TSCC native codec is built into the player.

Khazi,
Have the TSCC codec from techsmith included in your CD, and have opus launch the install, that will cover you for the videos created in camtasia.

You don't need the TSCC codec if you are using the Camtasia player - it is included in the CamPlay.exe file.

If you intend to let users run Camtasia generated videos from Windows Media Player (not a good idea...) you will need to install the TSCC codec on the target machines.

Thanks for the replies,

I will more than likely try to include the CamPlay.exe onto the CD.

Cheers,

Cruzer.
