Does anybody know whether it is possible to add Russian text into Opus?

To me it seems not impossible, because a simple tool as Microsoft Notepad can handle russian very easily!

Thanks Brenden, but...

I did as you told, BUT I keep seeing only questionmarks.

Can you please help me, because I am trying to convince my organisation, that Opus can do the same as Flash but a lot easier.

Thanks again!

I'm no expert on this, but it sounds like you may not have cyrillic font installed on your computer.

I did a brief Google search and came up with this discussion from Cornell University which might assist you.

http://russian.cornell.edu/fonts/rusfonts.htm

Someone else may happen by soon and give you an authoritative answer to your problem, but in the meantime, the Cornell link might assist you.

Good luck!

Cheers

Graham

Hi Graham,

Thanks for helping. I have two computers both Pentium 4 Windows XPsp2. But it doesn't work on both of them..
And I don't have any difficulty watching a russian website. I can enter Russian data in my MySQL database, in MSWord, etc.

But Opus PRO5.5 is only showing questionmarks when I copy/paste a russian or greek selection into a textbox in Opus.

Is there something wrong with my Opus or do I really have to use a speciafic font that allows me to write Russian.

I hope there's just this little thing I'm doing wrong!

Greetings Koen

I used to produce a Russian version of one of my courses using an older version of Opus several years ago. I don't remember the precise solution to the problem, unfortunately, but I know that it had something to do with a conflict between the way that different programmes use copy and paste. Prior to the widespread adoption of Unicode, Windows used several different methods of representing Cyrillic characters. Some programs still use these old methods.

From memory, I *think* I found the solution at this site:

There's a particular page you may find helpful:

Hi Andrew,

I just read some of the pages you suggested and downloaded one program, and It WORKS!

I'm so glad this works because now I can add a russian version to my Spiritual Gifttest too.

Thanks!!!
