I'm introducing myself to scripting and hoping to get some of the fantastic stuff in the showcase. However, there is one small problem, I struggling to do simple stuff!

I want to play a video and have a clock to count the mins/secs it has left to run.

I'm trying to tie up the Opus Script manual with reality and I'm wondering if I could get hold of an example of a page with this capability so that I can reverse engineer it. Any contributions appreciated. I can't seem to find it anywhere else in the forum.

Thanks

Peter

Thanks Chris, that did the trick. The script wasn't what I was expecting, so a useful learning experience too.

Chris --

For "fun" I downloaded your VTimer.imp file to see if I could understand your coding.

The only Script I saw was on the "Play" Button Object, and that was just one line "Vtimer()."

Where is the computer logic which takes the length of the video, then does a reverse count down, and populates the two Variables you created "min" and "sec"? I looked on Page and each of the Objects, but I don't see the coding required to do what I see is being done. Is it possible "VTimer" is doing all this? If so, how did you know to create min & sec as the correct variable names? I don't see VTimer as a described item in OPUS Script under Video.

Hello Fred,

I looked at it too. There is an object script1.
Within that script is the function Vtimer() declared with minutes and seconds.

So there is more script than only on the "Play" button.
The "Play"button runs Vtimer() declared in script1.

Thanks. Some how I completely missed Script 1 when I was first viewing this example. I have now reviewed it, and restate how impressed I am with people who do scripting. It's obviously a complex "foreign" language. The important thing is -- it works!
