Just finished a production with Opus on a PC.
the final burned cd does not work on a Macintosh.
Are there any compatability issues that I don't know about?
Thanks,
Bill Hancock

Opus supports Windows only and is not compatible with Apple computers.

BTW: my previous thread 'Video degradation problem after publishing
' is definitely not a joke. Please take a look.

Sorry, I am not pulling your leg.
forgive me for being so stupid, but I honestly di not realize that a Mac user could not view the Opus presntation. i have used Opus off and on for the past few years, and never have had anyone complain that the disc did not work.
I appreciate your response.
I guess I'm the one going DOH!

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

The executables created by Opus are standard Win32 executables and rely on Windows common controls and DirectX components to be present on the system. The executables will therefore not run on Mac OS or Linux systems.

You can produce Mac-compatible content using the Opus Flex plug-in (included in Opus Pro 04 and Opus Pro XE 04), which publishes to cross-platform Macromedia Flash format. However, you would need to generate a Mac projector file in Macromedia Flash or Director to allow this publication to autorun when inserted into the CD-ROM drive.

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries.

Kind regards,

thanks so much Robin.
I am using 2002b.
I suppose Flex is not available for this version?
Bill
