I am developing a rather large training course through Opus. It contains multiple chapters and a variety of content. I am looking to take a piece of this project to use as a demo as well as a way to test interaction with an LMS. Is there a simple way to export or save a segment of a course that could be used in these roles without recreating content or jeopardizing what already exists? Any ideas would be appreciated as, naturally, I am running into a time crunch.

Thanks
Dave

This is what I do with large pubs from which I want to make a smaller demo.

1. Save As a new publication with BOTH a new pub title and a new imp name. Working with this file protects your original file.

2. Decide which chapters will form the basis for your demo. Important: If any page in these chapters depends on material in another chapter, make sure you include those chapters/pages.

3. Delete the unwanted chapters/pages.

You should have the demo that you want. Test it because there's nothing worse that having your demo fail in public because of some missing object on which the demo depends.

This method works for me with the type of content/actions I include. Whether it works for you remains to me seen. My pubs never have to interact with LMS so, that effect is unknown.

Thanks for the help. I wasn't sure if mabe there was a way to publish a chapter or selected sections without cutting it up. The 'save as' method seems like it will work just fine though. Still a little uncomfortable with figuring out how to deal with the SCORM issues so that it will work with a prospective LMS but we'll see.

Thanks Again
Dave
