How do you copy a text variable to the clipboard using script?
I can do it using a text object, however if I then use a variable in the text object, it copies the literal string in the object, i.e. if the variable is called <words>, it copies this to the clipboard, not the contents of the variable.

Maybe I am not understanding you correctly, but there is a an action to Copy Variable to Clipboard. Perhaps you could attach this action to a hidden object and then use script to display it and have the action for onshow for the hidden object?

Yes, you are understanding me. I can do it using the built in function, or using a text object and running the script on show.
I want to use Opus script, so the built in function is not suitable. I just think using a text object is a bit clumsy. Surely there is a more elegent way of doing it in script?
