A client wants to include a Word doc file on their CD-ROM, which if the viewer clicks a Button, the file will be downloaded to the viewing computer's HD. Can I do a simple Copy & Paste of a file from the finished CD to My Documents? Create a Button, Trigger of Left Mouse Click, Action of File ??????? That's where I'm not sure.

I realize there would have to be much more programming if this needed to have a Browser to locate where the doc file would end up and/or create a new sub-directory. I want this simple.

TIA

You can do this, including the browse option, in four actions. See the attached example.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Duncan --

Your Action code works like magic! For others who will use what Duncan has so kindly created, when you Copy & Paste his Left Mouse Click and it's Actions, DON"T FORGET TO CREATE THE VARIABLE IN ANY NEW/DIFFERENT PUBLICATION. While OPUS will Copy the Action, it doesn't automatically create variables.

The real luxury of your solution is giving the viewer the ability to Browse to place the "test.txt" wherever they want it. Very nice!!!!! I would have never figured that out. I had "played" with the Copy feature, but couldn't get it to work... You're the best. Thank you!!!!!!

Pete --

The Button is to download a file. It could have been any file. In my case, it was a Word .doc file.

Look at the code and check for "Test.txt" which is the name of the file used in this example.

Hi, I'm using Opus 6 - and I would like to use this method that gives the user the option where to save the file, but it doesn't seem to work with .zip files? Anyone got any ideas?

All i did was change the .txt to .zip and also the filename.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
