An object is being dragged and collides with another object which causes it to move away from the collision:
Collision enter
move vertical 100 or Reset

(see the “setting boundaries in move vector to cursor” post April 19 2005)

If the person dragging the object does release the mouse button the object keeps bouncing back to the cursor and if the drag is quick enough or the cursor moved further into the collision zone where the object should not be.

Is there any way to solve this problem so that the object moves, stays there and can’t be re-dragged till the mouse button is released and re-held down?

Have managed to solve my problem by amending Chris Jones's mazegame3 using mouse down as a trigger and a page-sized button to detect mouse click (ie mouse up)

I've attached an example file in case it is useful to anyone.
