When I use a Doc View Object, OPUS changes the name of the original file for the final Publication directory. It uses "00000000.doc" for example. My client asked if we can retain the original file names to make locating files using Word easier. I seem to remember there's a place to tick to keep the original file names. I've check Pub & Chapter Properties, the Doc Properties, and the Resource Manager, as well as Tools -> Options, but I'm missing where it's located.

Is this possible, or am I having a "senior moment"?

I think this is perhaps what you want.

Open up the Resource Manager.
Go to your resource.
Click on the Publish Location button.
Click on the External File radio button.
Choose Publication Directory from the Base Location dropdown.
Click on the Use original filename checkbox.
Click on OK.

Now when you publish it should do what you want, I think?

Great! Thanks for showing/reminding me where this was hidden. I didn't go deep enough when I looked at the Resource Manager. Thank you!

FYI: For those who need to also use the original file names -- when OPUS publishes, you will get an Error Msg for each doc, xls, or pdf file with a message "Not supported" but the files are actually being copied into your Publish directory, and it will run fine.
