Dear Digital Workshop,

I have a end user who is having problems with a publication and is receiving a runtime error, the software works OK on many other systems but she is having concerns. Her computer is rather new and I'm concerned.

I don't have direct access to their system so I can only tell you what they've told me:

Intel Pentium processor 1.6 GHz
Windows XP Pro 2002

Publication is reading a runtime error on crashing.

Why would this be happening, any solution?

Joe,

There is not a lot to go on so my best guess would be a graphics card driver problem on the machine in question. I would recommend she downloads and installs the latest graphics card drivers for here machine.

This may mean getting the drivers from the graphics card manufactures website and not the machines manufactures website.

Thank you for your suggestion I will try and explain that to the user. If it helps I was able to obtain all the information regarding the error message.

I am getting the following error on most Dell machines and one Compaq-
I did not see any resolution in previous post. It runs fune on all 5 of my machines.

The first page loads OK then goes to a white page, if I hit esc I get to my exit screen which allows me to get to the menu page that does not load properly initially.

Any ideas out there?

If you can send a copy of the publication (the IMP and resources - executables will be automatically deleted by our mail scanner) in to Support, we will see if the problem can be reproduced here.

Well after MANY hours of troubleshooting I have isolated the issue to 2 frames of hypertext that was my main navigation.

I have converted each hypertext to 2 individual text frames to give the effect of a mouse over change for the text color. Mouse over initial text shows 2nd and hides self, then mouse off 2nd text shows first and hides self. If the user moves the mouse just right (or wrong) the initial text does not return with the mouse off. I have set up a second frame outside the initial to repeat the hide and show actions to return the text to the initial state, but it is not 100% reliable. There must be a better way.

Hi pawolf,

If you're only changing the text colour with a mouse-over, then try using, "Actions >> Attributes >> Change Text Colour."

Set the mouse-over to the new colour, and a mouse-exit back to the existing colour. That may work much more effectively than 2 separate text boxes.
