I often use pictures in my projects that are bigger than the page. Scrolling the picture is a great way to present a lot of information and is also useful for games etc. where you can scroll around. I miss being able to have objects like clickable frames follow the scrollable background. In Opus if you have a bakground that scroll the objects you place on top of the background stays put when the background scrolls. Other multimedia software manages this, and I think it would be a great addition to Opus.
Anyone else missing this?

It would indeed be a great help. I sometimes use maps in my publications and have to scale them down to make everything appear on the screen, which sometimes leads to blurred and unreadably small text.

The new OPUS XE has a new feature, it's an Object called Quicktime VR. You make a Quicktime mov file and insert it into this Object. When you run your PUB, move your pointer around in the object and the image will move left/right/up/down/etc.

With your current OPUS, take a look at Frames feature. You can insert a large Image Object in a Frame and put scroll bars on the Frame so you can move around the Image Object. Now hold down the CTRL key and re-size the Frame down to the size you want. When you run this PUB, you will be able to move the Object using the scroll bars on the Frame.

Scratch this off your Wishlist -- Santa came early.

Thanks Fred
I know Opus XE can run Quicktime and plan to try it out in the fututre. But it is not the same as beeing able to do it with Opus.
Have not tried the frame thing, but am not sure it is what I am looking for. Could I ask you to explain a bit more.

Hello Rolf and Klaus,

This can be done in Opus. Just insert the frames/objects also, into the main frame. They must be "insert into" and part of the Frame. See the attached IMP on what Fred was explaining to do. I have supplied a crude example.

<< "I sometimes use maps in my publications and have to scale them down to make everything appear on the screen, which sometimes leads to blurred and unreadably small text." >>

Also in regards to "scaled down maps", if the above scrollable image is not suitable you can use a magnifying effect in Opus. i.e. like a magnifying glass that is dragged over the page. :)

Thanks a lot for the help. It really works !! I tried it out with a big map and even put hot spots in it. The hot spots scroll with the map.

It should be mentioned here that this Forum is really great and helps you a lot thanks to professionals out there like you are. These things aren't really dealt with in the manuals, so it sometimes is hard to find out a way to solve such problems. Thanks a lot :D - Great forum - Great Opus !

Thanks everyone.
I have indeed tried this with textframes, but I didn`t think of doing it with pictures.
I have worked with just about every multimedia software you can think of, but the reason I prefer Opus is the fact that there is always help available on the forum or from the Digital Workshop guys.
