Is this a "trick" question, like "who's buried in Lincoln's grave" or "how long do you cook a 3-minute egg?"

I'm sure you know a 15" monitor is 15 inches dialogally measured from lower-right to upper-left corners of the screen.

I THINK you are really wanting to know the maximum number of pixels you are able to display (screen resolution), and that depends on your video card. From your computer's Desktop, right click in an unused area. When a window/box pops open, left click "Properties." When the next window appears, click on the tab at the top which reads "Settings."

In the lower left side of this window you will see an area which reads "Screen resolution." There's a slide under that (Less & More) which tells you the current resolution of your monitor. Mine says "1280x1024 pixels." That's as high a resolution as I can go with this video card and flat screen monitor. This works well for me when I'm creating OPUS projects of 1024x768 pixels. Most monitors today are at least that large. Older computers may still be only 800x600. You need to know your target audience to know the size you should select for a new project.

When I Preview OPUS, I get a (default) black edge around my project, unless I've selected the OPUS options to automatically expand to a specific max/min size (See Edit -> Chapter Properties in OPUS).

Does that help? Please give us more information what you are trying to learn. We'll be glad to help you.

Thanks Demofred, that was it. No, I do understand resolution. It was "expanding" the Publication to fill the screen that I needed to know.

But unfortunately, Opus is now broke.

Every time I now attempt to work within it, I open Opus, load my project, and then it hangs. I can;t go forwards and I can't close Opus. I end up needing to physically SWITCH-OFF the pc.

I've tried the Repair function to no avail. :(

I've uninstalled and re-installed but with no success. Opus still hangs. All my other software works. :?

Sad, huh?

Grazie

Try this:

1) Find the icon to launch OPUS.

2) Double click on that icon.

3) As soon as you have clicked the icon, press AND HOLD down the CTRL & ALT keys together.

4) Keep them held down until the program loads. You will get a message that asks if you want to clear the OPUS setting.

5) Click "Yes."

6) Report your success here.

Fred, thank you.

I tried your approach - kinda factory default setting? yeah? - anyways that didn't work.

But after a bit of "hanging", my Zone Alarm Pro decided to kicked-in - asking if I wanted OPUS.exe to be allow rights? Bit of a clue - huh?

Well, as this TOO was hanging, I went into ZAP .. and . . it would have appeared I needed to update my ZAP profile FOR OPUS.exe, giving it "Trusted" rights, and so on. :P

So, I did a complete uninstall and reinstall. Re-booted and got busy with ZAP. .. and yes, oh course, so far, ZAP now allows OPUS to work.

However, what IS interesting is that ZAP didn't, in a timely and appropriate way, give me any option to ALLOW Opus to boot up the first and second time I used OPUS. Normally ZAP says something like: "A new program is trying to access WINDOWS .dah dah dah .. do you want to allow ZAP to allow it?" . .this I didn't get. Bottom line I HAD to set the profile manually. And now, it would appear, I'm back in business.

HOWEVER! :o

The update/patch to version 2.8, for Presenter, is creating an ERROR when I try to install it. PNG attached.

2 steps forward . . ..

Fred, thanks for your patience.

If ZAP don't tell me .. I don't know!!

I would, however, like to be add the patch ..

Thanks,

Grazie
