Some time ago I saw an example of playing a sound file via the timeline. In this case the length of the sound was displayed in the timeline so that one could see when the sound is finished.

I try the same now with some of my own sound files (mp3) but in this case the length of the sound is not displayed in the timeline.

Have the sound files to be in special format to be displayed in this way?

Thanks in advance for your help.

By default the Play Sound action does not wait for the next action to start, so therefore takes 0 time as far as the timeline is concerned. To cause it to display the sound length in the timeline editor edit the Play Sound action and check the Wait for sound to finish before next action can start option.
