Hi everyone, hope someone can help me here.

I have a page on my publication which is basically a preset template with variables populated from elsewhere in the pub. I have set a print button to print this page which works great on your normal printer. My problem is that i need this page to print to a thermal transfer printer. These printers have a limited amount of file types they can process so before I go and purchase one, I need to know I am not wasting my money. Being a complete novice with file types, can anyone tell me what format is actually sent to the printer when a print command is executed?

Thanks

Jim

Printing does not send a file "type" - the printer driver converts the standard Windows print data into a format understood by the printer itself. You should be able to print from any program onto any printer (barring ancient text only printers of course).

Thanks Duncan, as I said, I am pretty naive when it comes to this!!!

Hopefully when I buy the thermal printer, It will work and not be the source of office banter for years to come!!!

When you buy your printer, why don't you offer to buy the printer on the condition that it will print Opus pages?
Make sure you get it in writing and any doubts or concerns that you have are solved.
If the trader won't sell the printer to you because of your offer conditions, then take your business elsewhere.
Cheers
Graham
