Hi,

In a Opus presentation (Professional XE 5.5), I use a font on some (dynamic) textfields. Dynamic like the text is loaded from a database.
The font is: Century Gothic.

The first time Opus shows a page with fields that use this font, the font is not loaded: instead of that it shows Times New Roman or something like that.
The fonts are embedded in the presentation. It also makes no difference if I put the font in the Windows Fonts folder.

The second time the presentation shows the font it works fine. This is during one run !
When I restart the presentation the problem occurs again, so it seems to have nothing to do with Windows itself.

What can I do about this?

Gr,
Paul

I can't duplicate your problem, but here's a suggestion I'd like you to try:

Create a BLANK Page and move it to the beginning of your Publication. Create a Text Object on this first Page and use the problem Font. Type a bunch of letters and numbers. It doesn't matter what you type. Now size the Text Object very small, so you can't see any of your miscellaneous text. Double left click on an open spot on the Page to access its Property screen/window. Click the option to have the Page automatically go forward after 1 second.

What I'm hoping this will do is force OPUS to load your problem Font without actually showing it. When OPUS runs into this font the next time in your Pub, it should already have it loaded and ready to be displayed.

Let us know if this works.

This works indeed. But that means that everytime that I change the font, or use another font somewhere I have to put it on the home as well.

Shouldn't Opus just handle this? Preload the fonts some way?

Thanks. The problem is solved for now :)

Paul

Fonts are loaded as required to save startup time.

I haven't tested this but adding some static content to your text box (say a full stop) should solve your issue.

Yes this works as well :) Thanks. And this is more usefull than the previous method.

I used a pipe. Did you mean that by a "full stop" ?
I'd rather use an invisible character but a space didn't work.

Thanks,
Paul
