That is the standard Opus player icon - the publication could have been produced with any version.
I would suggest looking at either of these products based on your needs and budget:
Opus Creator - Actions based interface, ideal for home users and beginners in multimedia.
Opus Professional - everything from Creator plus Scripting and Database support for more advanced development.

No - as I said, the executables produced by Opus cannot tell you what version of Opus it was produced in. The best way to choose the product you need is to make a decision based on what you want to achieve and your budget.

You can't modify an Opus exe

Paul is correct. One of the powerful features of OPUS is, once you Publish your IMP file (presenation), then it can't be opened. PERIOD. No one can go in and see your code/work/steal your videos, etc.

You will need an IMP file to edit anything. If you have the least expensive/lowest capability version of OPUS, and your IMP file was created in a higher version, then none of the advanced features will be available, nor will they work if you decide to Publish. The reverse is also true. If you have XE, then you can open and edit any IMP file.

If you are a professional multimedia developer, then you need to have the most complete version of OPUS -- XE Pro.
