After much head scratching and help from some members of this message board I've finally finished the website for my son band Mohawk.

www.Mohawk.mu

My first proper website.

A big thanks to everyone who offered help and support. The band is playing live on BBC Radio Suffolk tonight and are going to plug the site so I may even get a few hits. :D

Excellent site Terry
If you could send some plane tickets, I might be able to get to the next gig!
I somehow think, we'll be hearing a lot more about Mohawk in the near future.
Congratulations
Cheers

That does look nce. Good job!

One little suggestion: when going to the video page the background music on the site continues to play and then the audio from the video plays also. Look for a way to kill the background music if the video page is selected. Also, there must be a way to embed just the video window from the clip and not show the whole You Tube page. I've seen it done on other sites.

Hi Evereddie,

Thanks for taking the time to provide some feedback.

Originally when I designed this I did it as a full Opus plug in enabled site. This allowed me to use the browser object so that I could open a view to the You Tube site and could resize it so that only the video clip was displayed. However I soon realised that most people would not want to install a plug in just to view this site. I changed tack and made it into a flex output. Unfortunatly the flex option does not support the browser object. The only solution I could think of was to launch a separate window with the You Tube stuff in it. If anyone knows how I can make it appear with just the video clip section visable I'll give it a try.

The sound issue is a good point. The audio is provided by a separate MP3 player with it own volume control. I though it may be possible to control the volume from the Opus page but I could not get it to work when publishing the site as flex output.

So I left it out, but if anyone has any great ideas on this I'm open to suggestions.

There is a code at the top of the video page on You Tube that if you put it in a page will launch just the window with the video.

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/r864sakn7B0"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/r864sakn7B0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
