I had the problem you described, but not on Display. Only when printing... to an HP color laser. I disabled "graphic optimization" or somesuch thing in Advanced Options.

For Display problem you may check your DirectX version, also test different display options.

To get more/others' help on forum, it is always good to include what version of Opus you're using and some System info, graphics card, etc.

Here is a very simple publication with one image which works fine for me. Try running and publishing it to see if you get the same effect. Click anywhere on the image to exit.

There are many things which could cause this so we can start with a known working publication.

Don't change any publication settings---like compression. The image is already compressed. I have never had any problems with images. Let us know what happens. it may give a clue to where the problem lies.

The example, test.imp, has basic properties set, so it makes me wonder if you might have something set incorrectly in your pub.

Can you perhaps post a copy of the page(s) that are causing you problems? If you do, please include the page with the "problem" image, and make sure you zip the .imp file and that image.

Heres the cover page attached. The picture just comes up stripey and washed out when published.

Alison

When I first opened your example, there was no visible image, either in the editor or the preview. I checked the properties for all your objects, particularly the problem image, and superficially, all seemed well, until...

I opened the properties for the Image and found that there was no preview for the image you had chosen. To the best of my experience, this only happens (or has only happened to me) in 3 circumstances: (i) when the image format is not recognised by Opus; (ii) the actual image file is corrupt; or (iii) when the link to the file name is broken.

I reset the link to the image filename -- same name as you used -- but I just added it again, the image appeared, and seems OK.

The only times I have experienced a problem like this is when I have decided to move my pub and its resources to a different folder or drive. Might you have done this?

When I first loaded your pub I received an error message about a missing resource and asking if I wanted to open the Resource Manager to correct the problem. That's the easy way to remap a lot of missing resources. If there are only a few, some people find it easier to re-attach them as I mentioned above.

I'm sure there is no direct relationship to your problem, but have you any reason for not checking "Enable bilinear resample" in the Image Tab? I have a belief that after I started doing this, some of the strange issues I was having with images, disappeared.

Does any of this help?
